PDO Threads

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are synthetic absorbable suture material used in cardiac and pediatric surgeries for over 50 years. The threads, when placed in areas of skin laxity in a matrix like pattern, provide a subtle instant lift followed by collagen induction via a “selective inflammatory response.” This leads to collagen and new blood vessels being laid down around the thread matrix for approximately 12 weeks, rejuvenating and tightening the area. The threads themselves dissolve over a 6-9-month period, leaving the collagen behind. The results last for up to 2 years. The procedure is performed under topical OR local anesthesia
